After a 6 year hiatus, The Blizzards are back with a bang and are ready to headline Emerald Sounds on Friday 3rd March. The Mullingar 5 piece have had one hell of a year including an instantly sold out Whelan’s date, a UK tour, packed tents during this summer’s festival season and infectious singles “Drop Down The Anchor” and "Perfect On Paper", which have been taking over Irish radio featuring on Radio A playlists across the country.
These power pop chart toppers are obviously no strangers to the Irish music scene. Before the Voice of Ireland, and Niall Breslin’s solo and producing career, The Blizzards drew crowds of music fans with their combination of catchy pop toe tappers and contagious beats to stages at Slane, Oxegen, Independence and The Olympia. Since the band's conception in 2004, their release history is nothing to be sniffed at.
The Blizzards have released seven charted singles and two albums. Their debut album, A Public Display of Affection, was released in October 2006 achieved double platinum status in Ireland. Their second album Domino Effect released in 2008, entered the Irish Singles Chart at number two and birthed four singles, the top three track "Trust Me, I'm A Doctor" plus "Trust Me, I'm A Doctor" plus "The Reason", "Postcards" and "Buy It Sell It".
The Blizzards will undoubtedly blow their fans away with their first performance in London in 6 years!
